These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of food products through the official website of Caseificio Santa Maria.
2. E-commerce
In the Online Store section of the website, you can purchase a selection of our products and pay securely via PayPal, Klarna, Google Pay, or credit card.
By placing an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions of Sale in full.
3. Direct sales
The Direct Sales section features products from Caseificio Santa Maria and several local suppliers that are not available for purchase online, but can be purchased:
at our store
during local markets and fairs
For specific requests or particular availability, please contact us directly.
4. B2B supplies and large quantities
For large purchases (e.g., whole or half wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano, supplies for shops, restaurants, companies, corporate gifts, purchasing groups, hotels, Bed & Breakfasts), you can request a personalized quote by contacting us via email or phone.
5. Prices
All prices shown on the website include VAT, unless otherwise indicated.
Caseificio Santa Maria reserves the right to change prices at any time; any changes will not apply to orders that have already been confirmed.
6. Purchase from a private individual – Italy and EU countries
Sales made through the website are considered indirect e-commerce, similar to mail order sales.
Pursuant to Article 22 of Presidential Decree 633/1972:
Invoicing is not mandatory, unless requested by the customer at the time of ordering.
There is no obligation to issue a receipt or tax receipt, pursuant to Article 2, letter oo), Presidential Decree 696/1996 and subsequent amendments.
7. Product packaging
Our products are packaged with the utmost care to ensure their quality and integrity during transport.
Cheeses (Parmigiano Reggiano, tosone, caciotta, caciocavallo): vacuum-packed and boxed
Butter: packaged in traditional food-grade paper
Ricotta and grated Parmesan cheese: packaged in trays
Fresh or delicate products: packaged in a manner suitable for storage
For some particularly delicate products (such as ricotta, butter, caciotta cheese, or other fresh products), the use of thermal packaging is mandatory to ensure proper preservation during transport.
When there are products in the cart that require thermal packaging, the system automatically adds it.
8. Shipping
Shipments are made via GLS express courier, exclusively in Italy.
Shipping costs
Standard shipping in Italy: €13.20
Free shipping on orders of €120.00 or more
Shipping costs are automatically calculated in the shopping cart before the order is confirmed.
9. Shipment tracking
Once the order has been shipped, the customer will receive a confirmation email containing a link to track the shipment.
10. Receipt of goods and reporting of any damage
Upon delivery, the customer is required to check the integrity of the package.
Any damage, defects, or anomalies found during transport must be reported immediately to the courier upon delivery.
For complaints regarding damage caused during transport, you can contact GLS customer service via the official portal.
11. Warranties

We will replace the product or process the refund, in accordance with current legislation.
12. Returns and right of withdrawal – exclusion for food products
Pursuant to Article 59 of Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Consumer Code), the right of withdrawal does not apply to the supply of foodstuffs that:
are subject to rapid deterioration or expiration,
are sealed and opened after delivery,
cannot be returned for hygiene and food safety reasons.
Therefore, food products purchased on the Caseificio Santa Maria website cannot be returned or exchanged, except in the case of damaged or non-compliant products, as indicated in the "Guarantees" section.
In the event of a product damaged during transport or delivered that does not comply with the order placed, the customer is required to report the anomaly promptly, in accordance with the procedures indicated in the section "Receipt of goods and reporting of any damage."
Pursuant to Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Consumer Code), the customer may exercise the right of withdrawal within 14 days from the date of receipt of the goods, by communicating this via:

The refund will be made as quickly as possible, using the same payment method used for the purchase.
The shipping costs for returning the goods are borne by the customer.
Exclusions from the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to products:
custom-made or personalized
that are likely to deteriorate or change rapidly
sealed and opened after delivery for hygiene or food safety reasons
13. Applicable law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Italian law.
Any disputes shall be settled by the court of the place of residence or domicile of the consumer, if located in Italy.
